Itinerary

Day 1: Arrive in Leh (3,500 M)

Welcome to Leh, the Ladakh region's capital, is an extremely cold, sparsely populated, and silent place made so by the warmth of its residents. When you arrive at Leh Airport, our representative will be waiting for you. Followed by transfer to hotel for check in and overnight stay.

Note: To enter Ladakh union area, you must complete out the foreigner registration form when you arrive at Leh airport. Meals: Breakfast+ Lunch + Dinner

Day 2: Rest and Acclimatization in Leh (3,500M)

This day is reserved for acclimatisation to the high altitude. This is crucial to do in order to let your body adjust to its new surroundings and lower your risk of developing unfavourable health conditions.

Meals: Breakfast+ Lunch + Dinner

Day 4: Leh to Kargil (2,676M) | 216 km / 6-7 hours drive

You can venture out and explore a variety of well-known monasteries, the Leh Palace, the Khar dung La Pass, markets, etc. to get a feel for the climate at a high altitude. Upon rising, depart the hotel after breakfast, and travel 216 kms to Kargil. As you cross the Suru River, you'll catch your first glimpses of the twin peaks, Nun-Kun. We'll camp out for the night. The seven-hour drive seems like a visit to the neighbours because of the barren landscape, the slick roads, and the flavourful air.

Meals: Breakfast+ Lunch + Dinner

Day 5: Kargil to Tangol (3700M) | 65km - 2 hrs drive

To reach Tangol, a little village, you must travel down from Kargil to the mountain's head route. After 30 minutes of driving, the valley widens and the river widens considerably, as if suffering an abrupt growth spurt. A river's journey is joined by streams of pure water that cascade down from the mountains' smoother, greener flanks. Set up the camps for overnight stay.

Meals: Breakfast+ Lunch + Dinner

Day 6: Tangol - Base Camp (4,600 M) | 7-8kms/7hours Trek

Today is the first day of the actual journey. You will gradually make your way up the mountains. We will start our trek after breakfast early in the morning as today is going to be a long day. Also we will gain 900m of height. Set up the camp for staying in base camp.

Meals: Breakfast+ Lunch + Dinner

Day 7: Acclimatisation at Base camp (4,600M)

Distance: 65 kms

This day is reserved for acclimatisation at base camp for the coming higher altitude atmosphere.

Meals: Breakfast+ Lunch + Dinner

Day 8 to 20: Expedition Days

As soon as you start mountaineering, the weather at high altitude is uncertain. Plans are continuously revised to take into account the current circumstances. Mount nun has three camps above base camps, camp 1, camp 2, camp 3. After leaving base camp, the following preliminary schedule will take you to the summit; however, it may change depending on the weather.

Morning after breakfast drive back to Leh. Your expedition ends here but not before some celebration.

    Communication during Expedition

Effective communication is vital for the success and safety of any expedition. In remote and often challenging environments, staying connected ensures that team members can share critical information, coordinate efforts, and navigate unforeseen obstacles.
At Alpine India Expedition, we prioritize seamless communication to enhance team collaboration and guarantee safety. Here's how we keep connected during our expeditions:
    1. Satellite Communication Systems: In the most isolated locations, traditional cellular networks are often unavailable. We rely on satellite phones and satellite messaging systems in regions where they are not restricted to stay in touch with our base camp and emergency services when needed. These systems allow us to send updates, receive weather reports, and maintain constant contact.

    3. GPS and Tracking Devices: We use GPS trackers to monitor our progress and keep real-time location data. This technology is crucial in case of emergencies, as it allows us to provide our exact location to rescue teams if required.
